A curved symmetrical structure spanning an opening and typically supporting the weight of a bridge, roof, or wall above it.
Example: Within the display rooms the semicircular arch is repeated above every door utilising stone and colonnades in reference to the renaissance architecture and art within.

Example: The Neolithic adoption of farming may have prompted a respect for the land to such a degree the surrounding fertile landscape was reflected in the monumental architecture.

A false balcony, or railing at the outer plane of a window.
Example: A metal balconet under a broad tripartite window sits above the entrance.

noun
A railing composition composed of upper and lower rails, balusters, and pedestals. Materials used can range from stone to brick, wood and sheet metal.
Example: This seemed to be some watchword or signal that all was right; for the light turned on at the remote end of the passage; and a man's face peeped out, from where a balustrade of the old kitchen staircase had been broken away.

An ornamental molding around the wall of a room just below the ceiling.
Example: The capitals and the cornice of the monumental portico constructed on the southern slope of the Acropolis by Eumenes II were made from Pergamene marble suggesting that these were carved in Pergamon and shipped to Athens.
